आईएएस इनयात और पत्रकार इरमीन का सम्मान

उत्तर प्रदेश की प्रख्यात सामाजिक संस्था स्मार्ट एजुकेशन एण्ड वैलफेयर एसोसिएशन (रजि.) ‘सेवा’ और पीएस फाउन्डेशन पिछले तीन सालों से निरन्तर शिक्षा, स्वास्थ और पर्यावरण जागरुकता के क्षेत्र में बिना किसी सरकारी आर्थिक सहायता के कार्य कर रही है। इसके साथ ही सेवा ऐसे लोगों का सम्मान भी कर रही है जो अपनी मेहनत के बल पर एक खास मुकाम हासिल करते हैं। और दूसरों के लिये मिसाल बन जाते हैं। सेवा ने आगरा की पहली मुस्लिम महिला आईएएस इनयात खान और अंग्रेजी की जानी-मानी महिला पत्रकार इरमीन फरहत अली को उनके काम के लिये सम्मानित किया।

      आगरा के एक होटल में आयोजित कार्यक्रम के दौरान स्मार्ट एजुकेशन एण्ड वैलफेयर एसोसिएशन ‘सेवा’ और पीसीएफ ने सम्मान समारोह का आयोजन किया। होटल के सभागार में संस्था की ओर से आगरा की पहली मुस्लिम महिला आईएएस इनायत खान और देश के एक जाने माने अंग्रेजी दैनिक की ब्यूरो प्रमुख इरमीन फरहत अली को बुके भेंटकर सम्मानित किया गया। कार्यक्रम में संस्था द्वारा प्रदेश में किये जा रहे कार्यों की जानकारी दी गयी। आगरा में सेवा से जुड़े स्वंयसेवी अमीरुद्दीन ने जानकारी देते हुये बताया कि सेवा और पीएसएफ पिछले तीन सालों से उत्तर प्रदेश और उत्तराखण्ड में बिना किसी सरकारी आर्थिक सहायता के कई क्षेत्रों में काम कर रही है। इसमें सबसे अहम है सेव गर्ल चाइल्ड़ कैम्पेन और बालिकाओं की शिक्षा को प्रोत्साहन देना। प्रदेश के सहारनपुर ज़िले में सेवा और पीसीएफ एक निशुल्क शिक्षा केन्द्र भी संचालित कर रही है। इसी तरह का केन्द्र आगरा में भी जल्द शुरु किये जाने की योजना है।

      आईएएस इनायत खान ने सेवा और पीएसएफ के काम की सराहना करते हुये बालिकाओं के माता-पिता से अपनी बेटियों को प्रोत्साहित किये जाने की अपील की। उन्होने कहा कि भारतीय प्रशासनिक सेवा की परिक्षा के लिये कठोर परिश्रम की ज़रुरत है। अगर कोई पूरी लगन और मेहनत से तैयारी करता है तो उसे कामयाबी ज़रुर मिलेगी।

      पत्रकार इरमीन फरहत अली ने सेवा और पीएसएफ के कामों पर खुशी जताते हुये कहा कि समाज में लड़के और लड़की के बीच का मतभेद खत्म होना चाहिये। दोनों को ही समान रुप से शिक्षा दी जानी चाहिये। उन्होने कहा कि अभिभावकों को अपने बच्चों पर भरोसा रखाना चाहिये और उन्हे आगे बढ़ने के लिये प्रेरित करना चाहिये।

      इस मौके पर आईएएस इनायत खान के पिता एम.ए. खान ने कहा कि जब उनकी पुत्री का जन्म हुआ था तभी से वो उसे आईएएस बनाने का लक्ष्य निर्धारित किये हुये थे। और अब इनायत के आईएएस बन जाने पर वो बहुत खुश हैं। उन्होने सभी अभिभावकों से अपनी बेटियों को आगे बढा़ने और उनकी शिक्षा पर खास ध्यान देने की बात कही। श्री खान ने कहा कि जो इंसान जैसी भी आर्थिक स्थिति में है वो अपने बच्चों को शिक्षित ज़रुर करे। ताकि उनके बच्चों का भविष्य उज्जवल हो सके।

      इस दौरान सेवा और पीएसएफ की और से स्वंयसेवी धमेन्द्र सिंह ने सभी मेहमानों का आभार जताया। इस अवसर पर रमीज़ रज़ा, सर्वोत्तम सिंह, नासिर खान, शानु, निधि अग्रवाल और अनीता सिंह आदि की उपस्थिति उल्लेखनीय रही।

SEWA & PSF Celebrate World Environment Day

On 5^th June, Smart Education & Welfare Association ® SEWA and PSF celebrated world Environment Day- 2012 in Agra. SEWA & PSF organized a plantation event with forest department at Sikandra industrial area of Agra. On this occasion DM Agra Ajay Chauhan, Chief forest Conservator PK Sharma, Forest conservator  Vibhash Ranjan and DFO NK Janu plant trees with some school children. All the guest appreciate the efforts of SEWA & PSF. This was first event of SEWA & PSF in Agra. Now SEWA & PSF will organize many awareness programme for education, environment and Health in Agra district.

5 June- Let’s Celebrate WED, Save Environment

World Environment Day (WED) is the annually celebrated global day for positive environmental action. World Environment Day activities take place all year round but climax on 5 June every year, with global participation from the broadest possible cross-section of stakeholders. WED celebrations began in 1972 and have grown to become one of the main UN vehicles to stimulate worldwide awareness of the environment and to focus political attention and action on specific challenges and issues.
Through WED, the UN Environment Programme is able to humanize environmental issues and enable everyone to realize not only their responsibility, but also their power to become agents for change, in support of sustainable and equitable development. WED is also a day for people from all walks of life to come together to ensure a cleaner, greener and brighter outlook for themselves and future generations.
At the heart of WED is the mobilization of the global WED community to organize activities within their organizations, companies, communities, schools and even with their families and friends to promote environmental awareness and action. This year the call for the activities will focus on the theme “Green Economy: Does It Include You?” So let’s come with SEWA & PSF to save our environment……..

सेवा ने किया छात्र-छात्राओं का सम्मान

प्रख्यात सामाजिक संगठन स्मार्ट एजुकेशन एण्ड वैलफेयर एसोसिएशन ‘सेवा’ (रजि.) के निशुल्क शिक्षा केन्द्र में वार्षिक आकलन के आधार पर बेहतर प्रदर्शन करने वाले छात्र-छात्राओं को सम्मानित किया गया। उल्लेखनीय है कि शहर में सेवा और पीएसएफ द्वारा पिछले तीन सालों से गरीब एंव श्रमिक बच्चों को बिना किसी सरकारी आर्थिक सहायता के साक्षर किया जा रहा है।

      स्मार्ट एजुकेशन एण्ड वैलफेयर एसोसिएशन ‘सेवा’ (रजि.) ने पीएसएफ के साथ मिलकर तीन साल पहले सहारनपुर के गरीब, बेसहारा और श्रमिक बच्चों के जीवन में ज्ञान की रोशनी जलाने के लिये हसन कॉलोनी में निशुल्क शिक्षा केन्द्र का शुभारम्भ किया था। मात्र दस बच्चों के साथ शुरु किये गये इस निशुल्क शिक्षा केन्द्र में आज 75 से ज्यादा बच्चे शिक्षा प्राप्त कर रहे हैं। यहां स्कूल की कक्षाओं के समकक्ष ही बच्चों को श्रेणी में बांटकर पढाया जा रहा है। हर साल बच्चों के लिखित परीक्षण के आधार पर उनकी वार्षिक उन्नति का आकलन कर उन्हे सम्मानित किया जाता है। इस वर्ष प्री-नर्सरी के समकक्ष श्रेणी में अफशा प्रथम, रियासत द्वितीय और अयान ने तृतीय स्थान प्राप्त किया। नर्सरी के समकक्ष श्रेणी में निशारा प्रथम, दानिश द्वितीय और अनस तृतीय स्थान पर रहा। एलकेजी के समकक्ष श्रेणी में इकरा प्रथम, उमरा द्वितीय और इकरा-2 तृतीय स्थान पर रही। इसी प्रकार यूकेजी के समकक्ष श्रेणी में सलमान प्रथम, फरहाद द्वितीय और नूर मौहम्मद तृतीय स्थान पर रहा। इसी प्रकार पहली कक्षा के समकक्ष श्रेणी में सुमैय्या प्रथम, सादिया द्वितीय और फरहान तृतीय स्थान पर रहा। दूसरी कक्षा के समकक्ष श्रेणी में शाइस्ता प्रथम, फरीदा द्वितीय और निशा तीसरे स्थान पर रही। इसके अलावा चतुर्थ कक्षा के समकक्ष श्रेणी में सादिक प्रथम, मुतरसीम द्वितीय और शाहबाज़ ने तीसरा स्थान प्राप्त किया। इस वर्ष शिक्षा केन्द्र पर तीसरी कक्षा के समकक्ष श्रेणी में में छात्र नही थे।

      वार्षिक आकलन के दौरान बेहतर प्रदर्शन करने वाले सभी श्रेणियों के छात्र-छात्राओं को सामाजिक कार्यकर्ता कामरेड़ शरीफ और सेवा के संरक्षक एम.असगर ने प्रतीक चिन्ह और प्रमाण पत्र देकर सम्मानित किया। कामरेड़ शरीफ ने सेवा और पीएसएफ के कार्यों की सराहना करते हुये कहा कि इस क्षेत्र में संस्था ने ये निशुल्क केन्द्र खोलकर साक्षरता का जो अभियान शुरु किया है। उसकी जितनी सराहना की जाये वो कम है। ऐसे पिछड़े इलाकों में निशुल्क शिक्षा देना समाज सेवा का एक बड़ा कार्य है। उन्होने सेवा और पीएसएफ के द्वारा चलाये जा रहे फ्री क्लॉथ बैंक और स्वास्थ जागरुकता अभियानों को भी समाज के विकास में महत्वपूर्ण बताया।

इस मौके पर सेवा और पीएसएफ के अधिकारी एम. तनवीर ने शिक्षा केन्द्र पर आये मेहमानों को संस्था द्वारा किये जा रहे सामाजिक हित के कार्यों की विस्तार पूर्वक जानकारी दी।

      इस मौके पर शिक्षा केन्द्र की संचालिका श्रीमती तरन्नुम, प्रबंधक एम. तबरेज़, हाफिज़ इस्लाम, विशाल कश्यप, नदीम अहमद, शहजाद आशु, प्रवीन कुमार, मोनू, शकील, शाहनवाज़, बृजमोहन, कुर्बान, खालिद, राकेश और गंगा प्रसाद आदि की उपस्थिति उल्लेखनीय रही। अंत में सेवा की तरफ से अतिथियों का आभार जताया गया।

Save Environment, Save Earth

Each year, Earth Day - April 22 -- marks the anniversary of what many consider the birth of the modern environmental movement in 1970.

The height of hippie and flower-child culture in the United States, 1970 brought the death of Jimi Hendrix, the last Beatles album, and Simon & Garfunkel’s “Bridge Over Troubled Water”. Protest was the order of the day, but saving the planet was not the cause. War raged in Vietnam, and students nationwide increasingly opposed it.

At the time, Americans were slurping leaded gas through massive V8 sedans. Industry belched out smoke and sludge with little fear of legal consequences or bad press. Air pollution was commonly accepted as the smell of prosperity. “Environment” was a word that appeared more often in spelling bees than on the evening news.  Although mainstream America remained oblivious to environmental concerns, the stage had been set for change by the publication of Rachel Carson's New York Times bestseller Silent Spring in 1962.  The book represented a watershed moment for the modern environmental movement, selling more than 500,000 copies in 24 countries and, up until that moment, more than any other person, Ms. Carson raised public awareness and concern for living organisms, the environment and public health.

The idea came to Earth Day founder Gaylord Nelson, then a U.S. Senator from Wisconsin, after witnessing the ravages of the 1969 massive oil spill in Santa Barbara, California. Inspired by the student anti-war movement, he realized that if he could infuse that energy with an emerging public consciousness about air and water pollution, it would force environmental protection onto the national political agenda. Senator Nelson announced the idea for a “national teach-in on the environment” to the national media; persuaded Pete McCloskey, a conservation-minded Republican Congressman, to serve as his co-chair; and recruited Denis Hayes as national coordinator. Hayes built a national staff of 85 to promote events across the land.

As a result, on the 22nd of April, 20 million Americans took to the streets, parks, and auditoriums to demonstrate for a healthy, sustainable environment in massive coast-to-coast rallies. Thousands of colleges and universities organized protests against the deterioration of the environment. Groups that had been fighting against oil spills, polluting factories and power plants, raw sewage, toxic dumps, pesticides, freeways, the loss of wilderness, and the extinction of wildlife suddenly realized they shared common values.

Educational Development Programme at PSF Centre

Smart Education & Welfare Association® SEWA & Parvez Sagart Foundation, India organized a educational development programme for their students. Delhi’s know socialist Mr Anwar Ali & Prof. Surendra Nishchal gave many tips to students here in Saharanpur on Saturday and suggested the best ways to lead a good life at PSF Free Education Centre, Saharanpur.

            During his speech Mr Anwar Ali said that every student should dream about his/her future and he also emphasized the student must focus their target to achieve. He also said that the students should work hard to get more knowledge to fulfill the dreams of their parents too. He also appreciated the organizing committee of SEWA-PSF Free Education Centre for its courage and good efforts. He also assured a full cooperation to the SEWA & PSF.

            Senior Prof. Surendra Nishchal is known for his researches in various fields related to education. He is renowned social activist has worked for students belonging to weaker sections of society. He stressed the need of joint efforts between the ngo’s and government bodies should come forward to work together for the benefit of weaker section’s education affaires.

            Tourism Activist of Agra Sethg Eliyas Qureshi also visited centre and delivered few words to encourage the students of the centre.

In charge of SEWA & PSF free education centre Mr M. Tanveer gave thanks to all guests. On this occasion centre head Mrs Tarnnum, Manager M. Tabrez, Comrade Shareef Ahmad, M. Asif Khan, Baby Namra, Praveen Kumar, Salman, Asif, Nadeem, Vishal Kumar and Shahzadi etc were also present.

Save Water, Save the World

There are 7 billion people to feed on the planet today and another 2 billion are expected to join by 2050. Statistics say that each of us drinks from 2 to 4 litres of water every day, however most of the water we ‘drink’ is embedded in the food we eat: producing 1 kilo of beef for example consumes 15,000 litres of water while 1 kilo of wheat ’drinks up’ 1,500 litres.

When a billion people in the world already live in chronic hunger and water resources are under pressure we cannot pretend the problem is ‘elsewhere’. Coping with population growth and ensuring access to nutritious food to everyone call for a series of actions we can all help with:

-follow a healthier, sustainable diet;

-consume less water-intensive products;

-reduce the scandalous food wastage: 30% of the food produced worldwide is never eaten and the water used to produce it is definitively lost!

-produce more food, of better quality, with less water.

At all steps of the supply chain, from producers to consumers, actions can be taken to save water and ensure food for all.

Happy International Women's Day

The new millennium has witnessed a significant change and attitudinal shift in both women's and society's thoughts about women's equality and emancipation. Many from a younger generation feel that 'all the battles have been won for women' while many feminists from the 1970's know only too well the longevity and ingrained complexity of patriarchy. With more women in the boardroom, greater equality in legislative rights, and an increased critical mass of women's visibility as impressive role models in every aspect of life, one could think that women have gained true equality. The unfortunate fact is that women are still not paid equally to that of their male counterparts, women still are not present in equal numbers in business or politics, and globally women's education, health and the violence against them is worse than that of men.

However, great improvements have been made. We do have female astronauts and prime ministers, school girls are welcomed into university, women can work and have a family, women have real choices. And so the tone and nature of IWD has, for the past few years, moved from being a reminder about the negatives to a celebration of the positives.

Annually on 8 March, thousands of events are held throughout the world to inspire women and celebrate achievements. A global web of rich and diverse local activity connects women from all around the world ranging from political rallies, business conferences, government activities and networking events through to local women's craft markets, theatric performances, fashion parades and more.

Many global corporations have also started to more actively support IWD by running their own internal events and through supporting external ones. For example, on 8 March search engine and media giant Google some years even changes its logo on its global search pages. Year on year IWD is certainly increasing in status. The United States even designates the whole month of March as 'Women's History Month'.

So make a difference, think globally and act locally !! Make everyday International Women's Day. Do your bit to ensure that the future for girls is bright, equal, safe and rewarding.

Republic Day Celebration 2012 by SEWA & PSF

Smart Education & Welfare Association® SEWA and PARVEZ SAGAR FOUNDATION Celebrate The Republic Day with poor street children in Namra Public School at Hasan Colony. This school Providing free education to poor and needy street children of slum area without any government fund.

Comrade Mahaveer singh unfold the national flag on the SEWA building. On this occasion students act a play on the topic of Education. Students perform Dance & music programme also. SEWA & PSF distribute sweets, fruits & toffees to poor children.

In this patriotic event school manager Mr. Tabrez (Sonu), Principal Mrs Trannum, Comrade Shareef Ahmad, Hafiz Islaam, Praveen Kumar, Mrs Sonia, Mrs Munesh, Shamim, Vijay Pal Singh, Masroor khan, Chandrabhan Kashyap, M.
